Radical Repair
This was a weeklong project focusing on the repair of any object in a unique way. I had an Eames Lounge chair that was missing the connector brackets for the seat and backrest shells as well as both bases for the chair and ottoman. The repairs entailed cutting ⅛” mild steel to size, rounding the corners, bending to 90°, and drilling all of the holes for connecting the seat & backrest and mounting the armrests. The bases were made of repurposed cable spools by cutting the top face down to a smaller profile and cutting the center column of the chair base to maintain the 15° tilt of the original Eames Lounge chair.
